How it’s checked

The files are generated from the rulebook kdpbook’s layout engine and free calculators use, so the numbers here are the ones that size real books. Each rule was checked against KDP Help and KDP’s cover and royalty calculators on September 26, 2026, the version in the file. The language list was re-read on KDP Help on September 28, 2026. Every source is listed in the file’s sources field and on this page.

KDP changes its rules from time to time. Confirm with KDP’s Print Previewer before you publish.

Questions

Can I use this KDP data in my own tool or article?

Yes. The dataset is published under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0): reuse it, change it and build on it, commercially too, as long as you credit kdpbook.io and link to this page.

How current is the data?

The rules were checked against KDP Help and KDP's own calculators on September 26, 2026 (the version field), and the language list on September 28, 2026. The files are rebuilt from the same rulebook each time it changes.

Is this an official Amazon dataset?

No. It is an independent compilation by kdpbook.io of rules Amazon publishes on KDP Help. kdpbook.io isn't affiliated with Amazon, and KDP's own pages and previewer always have the last word.
