What it does
From your book's Export page on kdpbook.io, one click opens KDP in a new tab. For each format you pick, the KDP title is created first, with KDP's own button: kdpbook clicks it, or highlights it for your one click (for a paperback, “Save and Continue” on KDP's new-title page; for a hardcover or Kindle eBook made from your paperback, “+ Create hardcover” or “+ Create Kindle eBook” on your paperback's row of the Bookshelf). Then kdpbook fills everything else on KDP's three pages and saves a draft; it never publishes. What it fills:
- Details: language, title, subtitle, series, author, description, reading age, primary marketplace, keywords, and categories chosen in KDP's own category list for your book.
- Content: the ISBN choice you confirmed, ink and paper, trim size, bleed, cover finish, your interior and cover files, and the AI-generated content answers.
- Rights & pricing: worldwide rights, your price on the primary marketplace, and the other marketplaces rounded to .99 and kept above KDP's minimum.
You stay in charge of the rest: signing in to KDP when Amazon asks, the click that creates a KDP title when kdpbook highlights it for you, approving the print preview, reading the draft, and clicking Publish. kdpbook Publisher never clicks Publish.
What it never does
- It never sees your Amazon password, and never touches a sign-in, verification code or CAPTCHA page.
- It works only on kdp.amazon.com and kdpbook.io, only in the KDP tab it opened, and only while you asked it to fill a draft.
- It never accepts terms, KDP Select enrollment or any agreement for you: those questions come to you.
- It never creates a second KDP title for the same book and format by itself, so no duplicate draft ends up on your Bookshelf. If KDP refuses a new title, you see KDP's own message.
Who can use it
Authors on a paid kdpbook.io plan (their exports have no watermark), on a computer with Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi or Arc. Firefox, Safari, phones and tablets get the step-by-step upload guide on the Export page instead. KDP Japan (kdp.amazon.co.jp) isn't supported yet.
How to start
- Open your book's Export page and export it: the files must pass every check.
- On that page, add kdpbook Publisher the first time (free, about 30 seconds), then click “Fill my KDP draft” and check what kdpbook will fill.
- KDP opens in a new tab. kdpbook prepares the title, and KDP's button that creates it (“Save and Continue” for a paperback, “+ Create hardcover” or “+ Create Kindle eBook” on the Bookshelf for a format made from your paperback) is clicked by kdpbook or highlighted for you to click; kdpbook fills everything else right after. If KDP doesn't show the new title's details, kdpbook asks you to confirm it on your Bookshelf (“Use this draft”). Follow the progress there or on kdpbook; it tells you when it needs you.
Open my books · kdpbook Publisher in the Chrome Web Store
What it sends to kdpbook
To show you the progress, the extension sends kdpbook.io your KDP draft ID, which step it is on, KDP's messages, what KDP saved for that draft (the ISBN it assigned, the categories, the prices, the file names, whether it is in review or live), KDP's category list for your marketplace (to pick the categories, kdpbook sends it with a summary of your book to its AI provider) and the extension's version. Never your password, cookies, payments, tax details or your other KDP titles (it looks this book up on your Bookshelf; the rest stays in your browser). It asks for your consent once, in the extension, before the first fill. The details are in our privacy policy.
Chrome asks to let it “Read and change your data on kdp.amazon.com and kdpbook.io”: that's how it fills KDP's form and hears from your kdpbook account. It also stores the job's progress in your browser.
