Why kdpbook exists

AI can write a story and paint a picture in seconds. Turning that into a book people can buy still takes days: the right trim size, margins that grow with the page count, bleed on the right edges, a spine sized to the paper, a cover that wraps exactly, a Kindle file that behaves, and a listing that follows Amazon’s rules. Most AI tools stop at the text or the image. We built kdpbook to do the whole job.

How it works

  1. You describe your book in a sentence, or set every detail step by step, or import your manuscript.
  2. kdpbook plans the book, writes it, locks the main characters on reference sheets and illustrates every page in one style.
  3. The layout engine applies KDP’s rules to every page and every cover, and you edit anything with a live preview.
  4. You export the interior PDF, the cover PDF, the Kindle eBook and a listing sheet, ready to upload to KDP.

How we keep the KDP rules accurate

Every KDP number on this site and in the app comes from one rulebook in our code: trim sizes, page limits, margins, bleed, spine factors, cover geometry, printing costs and royalties. We check it against KDP’s help pages and KDP’s own cover and royalty calculators, record where each number comes from, and flag the places where KDP’s sources disagree. The free KDP calculators and the guides read from the same rulebook, so they can’t drift from what the app builds.

What we promise, and what we don’t

  • You see a credit estimate before every book, and you only pay for what is produced.
  • We tell you that books made with kdpbook are AI-generated, and what to declare to KDP.
  • We don’t promise that KDP will accept a book, that it will sell, or how much it will earn. Amazon decides what it publishes, and readers decide what they buy.
  • We don’t publish testimonials, logos or statistics we can’t back up.

The editorial team

Guides, calculators and comparisons are written by the kdpbook.io editorial team, the people who build the product. Each page shows when it was published and last updated, and links to the KDP sources it relies on. Comparisons with other tools only use their public information and carry the date we read it.
