AI coloring book generators for KDP (2026): what each one exports

We make kdpbook.io, so it is listed first; every other entry is described from its own public pages, checked 2026-10-04. Prices and features may have changed since; each entry links to the pages we read.

Which AI tools turn a theme into a coloring book you can upload to KDP? Checked on October 4, 2026: kdpbook.io, KDP Builder, KDPEasy, Create Coloring Books AI and KDP Coloring Book Studio document line art, a print interior and a full-wrap cover. KDP doesn't take coloring books as Kindle eBooks or in Expanded Distribution, and they need an ISBN.

Each tool in detail

  1. 01

    kdpbook.io

    Made by us kdpbook.io home

An AI book studio for Amazon KDP. Its kids' coloring book and adult coloring book types draw one design per page from your theme, then lay out the book to KDP's print rules with its cover and listing. Styles for kids: Kids coloring (cartoon), Bold & easy coloring, Kawaii and Realistic line drawing; for adults, 8 styles including Intricate adult coloring, Mandala and Scandinavian folk.

    Best for
A complete coloring book from one theme, for kids or adults: designs, interior, cover and listing in one project
    Limits
Print only: KDP doesn't take coloring books as Kindle eBooks. No keyword or niche research. Free-plan books are watermarked, not for sale and public in the community library. You still answer KDP's AI-disclosure questions.
    Paid from
    $25/month (Starter, 2,500 credits); a 106-page kids' coloring book is estimated at about 1,803 credits (≈ $18)
    Free to try
2,000 credits once, no card (enough for a 106-page kids' coloring book); exports watermarked, not for sale
  2. An all-in-one AI builder for KDP whose coloring book creator draws line art page by page in one locked style (kids' outlines, adult mandalas, realistic animals, florals and more), lays the pages out with blank backs and builds the cover and metadata.

    Best for
A coloring book package with keywords and a description, from the same tool you use for other book types
    Limits
Its pricing page puts a coloring book at about 230–280 credits, most of a Starter month's 250, and a short 30-page book at about 85–125.
    Paid from
$16/month (Starter, 250 credits); its pricing page lists about 230–280 credits for a coloring book
    Free to try
75 credits once (email verified, valid 14 days), no card
  3. A cover-first KDP studio with a coloring book creator: describe a theme or write one prompt per page, and it generates line art in six styles for books of up to 100 pages.

    Best for
Coloring interiors and covers from one account, with keyword research and a Chrome extension that saves KDP drafts
    Limits
How many credits a coloring page uses is not documented on these pages.
    Paid from
    $19/month (Starter: 35 credits, 7 covers)
    Free to try
10 credits once after email confirmation, no card; free work carries a watermark
  4. An AI coloring book generator for KDP sellers: generate pages for kids or adults, arrange them in a drag-and-drop editor and export the interior. It also keeps a free library of printable coloring pages.

    Best for
Arranging a coloring interior yourself from AI pages, at a low monthly price
    Limits
A cover is not documented, so you make it elsewhere. The free plan is limited to 3 images a week.
    Paid from
    $9.99/month (Basic, 100 image credits)
    Free to try
3 image generations a week, limited exports, no card
  5. An AI coloring page generator (from text, a photo or a name) with a coloring book generator: one idea becomes up to 60 pages and a colored cover, in Theme mode for a consistent collection or Story mode, which keeps the same characters throughout.

    Best for
Story coloring books with the same character on every page, made from a photo or a description
    Limits
Books stop at 60 pages, and pages are sized by aspect ratio rather than a KDP trim: check the size and margins before you upload.
    Paid from
    $9.99/month (Starter, 200 credits: up to 100 pages at 1K or 33 at 4K)
    Free to try
4 credits without signing up, 4 more on signup and up to 18 a week from daily check-ins; personal use only

    KDP Coloring Book Studio

kdpcoloringbook.com (opens in a new tab)

A web app for KDP coloring books: pick a style (cute, geometric, mandala, retro or your own), describe a theme and a difficulty curve, then generate consistent black-and-white pages and a matching paperback cover.

    Best for
Square 8.5 × 8.5 in coloring books with a matching cover, paid by the page you keep
    Limits
Its cover tool is documented for 8.5 × 8.5 in paperbacks only, and its plan cards list the cover generator from the Author plan. A 24-page book uses 27 credits if every page is kept on the first try (its FAQ).
    Paid from
    $7/week (Weekly, 40 credits, about one 24-page book); $29/month (Author, 200 credits)
    Free to try
One watermarked book of up to 3 pages, no card
  7. A coloring book builder: AI line art in styles from simple and chibi to mandala and text-in-patterns at four detail levels, a cover designer, title and copyright pages, the listing text and Amazon A+ Content images.

    Best for
A KDP coloring book with its listing copy and A+ Content images, paid per pack instead of a subscription
    Limits
    Two trim sizes (8.5 × 8.5 and 8.5 × 11 in). Exporting the print-ready PDF needs a paid pack.
    Paid from
    $9.99 one-time (Starter Pack, 50 images); $19.99 for 125 images, sized for a 40–60 page book
    Free to try
10 free AI credits, no card
  8. A suite of KDP tools (calculators, puzzle generators, an AI book writer) whose AI coloring book generator, labeled beta, offers 12 art styles, three image models and five page sizes.

    Best for
Trying a coloring book cheaply, next to free KDP calculators and puzzle generators
    Limits
A coloring page costs 2, 3 or 6 credits depending on the image model. Commercial-use terms aren't stated on these pages.
    Paid from
$9.99/month (Starter, 400 credits); credit packs from $2.99
    Free to try
1 book a month on a free account (its coloring page)
  9. 09 · coloring pages, not a KDP tool

    ColorBliss

colorbliss.com (opens in a new tab)

An AI coloring page generator: text prompts, photos, drawings or words, in many styles (cozy, simple, detailed, mandala, anime-inspired and more), with bulk generation of up to 50 pages into a printable book.

    Best for
Single coloring pages from photos, drawings or words, for home, class or gifts
    Limits
Its pages don't describe KDP interiors or covers, so you size and lay out the book yourself. Bulk generation and commercial use start on Artist ($25/month).
    Paid from
$7/month (Starter, 250 credits, personal use); $25/month for commercial use
    Free to try
Up to 12 coloring pages free, no card
  10. 10 · research and design

    Book Bolt

bookbolt.io (opens in a new tab)

A KDP research and design suite: Amazon keyword and niche research, the Book Bolt Studio cover and interior designer with coloring book templates, and an AI image generator for coloring pages.

    Best for
Niche research first, then designing the coloring book yourself from templates
    Limits
Research is its core: you build the book page by page in the Studio. Its AI credits also cover cover concepts and descriptions (1,000 a month on Pro).
    Paid from
$19.99/month billed yearly (Pro, 1,000 AI credits)
    Free to try
3-day free trial, real exports included

How we checked

  • We opened each tool's own home, pricing and help pages on 2026-10-04 and recorded only what they state. Every page we read is linked under its entry.
  • “Not documented” means we could not find it on those pages, not that the tool can't do it.
  • In the table, the small “source” link in a cell opens the page that states it.
  • We did not buy plans or generate test books in the other tools, so this page doesn't rate output quality. Try two or three on the same idea before you choose.
  • Prices are as displayed on that date, before tax. They change often: check the tool's own page before you pay.
  • kdpbook.io's numbers come from our own product code, the same source as our pricing page and llms.txt.
  • The KDP rules quoted here (Kindle, Expanded Distribution, ISBN, blank pages, trim sizes and AI disclosure) come from KDP Help pages, linked under Sources.
  • Left out: Midjourney and ChatGPT, because they are general-purpose AI tools that make individual images, not books: the interior, the cover and KDP's sizes are up to you. See kdpbook.io vs ChatGPT.
  • Left out: iColoring and Colorify, because iColoring's coloring book generator makes pages one prompt at a time, downloaded as images (an assembled KDP interior isn't documented), and colorify.ai colorizes black-and-white photos rather than making coloring pages (both read on 2026-10-04).

Questions

Can I sell an AI-generated coloring book on Amazon KDP?

Yes, if you hold commercial rights to the images and declare them when you publish: KDP asks about AI-generated images, interior and cover alike, whichever tool made them. KDP still reviews every title, and no tool can promise it will be accepted. Order a proof copy to check the line art on paper.

What trim size should a KDP coloring book use?

KDP doesn't impose one. 8.5 × 11 in is the common choice, and square 8.5 × 8.5 in suits younger kids and mandalas. KDP Builder lists 8.5 × 11, 8 × 10 and custom sizes, Create Coloring Books AI 8.5 × 8.5 and 8.5 × 11 in, KDP Tools five sizes; kdpbook.io offers 6 KDP trims (8.5 × 11, 8 × 10, 8.5 × 8.5, 8.27 × 11.69, 8.25 × 11, 8.25 × 8.25 in).

Should coloring pages be printed on one side only?

Usually, yes: a blank back behind each design keeps markers from bleeding into the next picture. KDP's paperback guidelines list excessive blank pages as a common failure, and that limit is about long runs of blank pages, not one blank back per design. kdpbook.io prints one side by default (double-sided is an option), KDP Builder follows every design with a blank reverse and KDP Tools offers it as an option; the other tools here don't document it.

Do I need an ISBN for a coloring book on KDP?

Yes. KDP's low-content category doesn't typically include coloring books (its table lists them as not generally low-content), so publish with an ISBN; KDP's free ISBN works for paperbacks and hardcovers. Coloring books can't be Kindle eBooks, and Expanded Distribution doesn't currently accept them, so they sell as print books on Amazon.

Which AI coloring book tools let you sell what you make?

On their own pages, KDP Builder, KDPEasy, Book2Color and Create Coloring Books AI grant commercial rights; MyColoring.AI and KDP Coloring Book Studio on paid plans only, and ColorBliss from its Artist plan ($25/month). kdpbook.io includes a commercial license on paid plans; free-plan books are watermarked and not for sale. KDP Tools doesn't state it, and Book Bolt's answer covers its stock images and graphics.
