Benny's Little Acts of Kindness

Two cups clink in Ivo’s trolley, and Benny is ready to turn them into a café. He welcomes his new neighbour and leads him toward the playground, where a pretend tea party is waiting. But the trolley’s wheels catch on gravel, and the path to play takes teamwork. Then the café’s hanging pans clang together. Ivo doesn’t like the loud sound, and his cups stay tucked away. Benny has a choice: keep pushing his own café plan, or notice what his new friend needs. Can he find a way for their game to feel right for both of them?

With gentle details, familiar neighbourhood moments, and small acts of thoughtfulness, Benny’s story invites young readers to notice, listen, and make room for a friend. A warm read-aloud for preschoolers and the grown-ups sharing story time.
