Vera's Christmas Countdown
Six sleeps until Christmas, and Vera has six paper stars ready for the wreath. She wants to hang them all at once, but Mom suggests adding one each day. Waiting is hard when Christmas feels so close—and the wreath looks ready for only one star.
As Vera counts down, biscuits bake, festive decorations appear in neighboring windows, and a curious tik-tok-tik keeps interrupting her counting. Nobody can find where the tapping comes from, and it seems to follow the wreath. Then, with just one sleep left, Vera’s final star catches on its tin and tears. Can she find a way to finish the welcome she has been making day by day?
A gentle Christmas story about patience, noticing small surprises, and making something special together—inviting young readers to count along with Vera and listen for a little knock.
