Kiko and the Forest Sound

by Muhammad Talha

Kiko wants to join the woodland animals on their evening walk, but even a simple hello feels difficult. Then a hollow tok, tok interrupts his practice. The animals have heard it too, but nobody knows where it comes from—or what is making it.

Curiosity draws Kiko closer to the group as they follow the puzzling tapping through rustling leaves and toward a hollow root. Yet whenever they move, their footsteps drown out the sound. When the tapping disappears, Kiko worries he may have led everyone the wrong way. Can he find the patience to listen closely and the courage to ask his new friends to wait?

Kiko and the Forest Sound is a gentle picture-book story about a shy hedgehog, an evening woodland mystery, and the small acts of attention that can bring friends together. Its soft rhythms, rustling-leaf sounds, and repeated taps make it a warm choice for preschool story time and reading aloud.
