Absolution Brown and the Shadow Surge

When a fallen angel traps Spokane residents inside an obsidian bell, Absolution Brown has until midnight to find a way in—and bring them home. The bell grows stronger with every use of the power Absolution carries, turning his greatest advantage into a danger to everyone he is trying to save.

Raised by Ansel, a rogue Catholic priest, Absolution leads a young superhero team with Neri, whose hands form brief supports of solid light, and Cale, who can hear voices through supernatural barriers. Their search leads to Ivo, a dangerous being Absolution once fought. Ivo wants to leave Sever’s service, but absolving him will give Absolution a new power that may feed the prison. Can Absolution trust someone he has reason to fear—and find another way to reach the captives before the bell closes forever?

Absolution Brown and the Shadow Surge is a supernatural superhero comic about accountability, hard choices, and making room for people to change. Its vivid scenes and speech-balloon dialogue bring the peril, teamwork, and moral tension straight to the reader.
