The Moon Beneath Mars

by Arsene Huot

Earth sends its waste to the Moon. Mars throws away gardens. Hugo sees the imbalance every day—and wonders whether the discarded pieces of another world could help Sump Settlement build a future of its own.

When a battered greenhouse arrives with living roots and a leaking yellow watering can, Hugo and his friends Iona and Tev begin planning a journey to Mars. But an empty return carrier is no safe passage: the travelers need food, air, and somewhere to land. They must persuade freight crews to help, protect the emergency supplies their neighbors depend on, and make room for a greenhouse that cannot feed them yet.

As the voyage brings new dangers and hard choices, Hugo discovers that Mars is not an empty prize waiting to be claimed. Its workers have needs and stakes of their own, while a powerful freight director stands in the way. Can a rebellion built around carrying the discarded become a home shared by people Mars has pushed aside?

The Moon Beneath Mars is a teen science-fiction comic about resourcefulness, solidarity, and the difficult choices behind making a place to belong. Its vivid panel-by-panel storytelling and lively speech balloons make the journey an engaging read for young sci-fi fans.
