A Lift for the Lamplighter

by IKyeremateng

Rusty, a little fox, finds a tiny star trembling in the grass. The star has fallen from the sky and can’t get home without a lift—and there’s still work to do: a crooked, spoon-shaped root by Rusty’s doorstep needs its light.

Rusty promises to help. With the star safely cupped in his paws, he sets off toward the hill. A bramble catches his tail, steep roots make him wobble, and the way upward calls for careful steps. The star can light the path, but Rusty must find a way to climb while keeping his precious passenger safe. Can this determined little fox get high enough to give the lamplighter a chance to return home?

A Lift for the Lamplighter is a gentle forest adventure filled with warm humor, tender teamwork, and small acts of courage. Rusty’s careful shuffling and clever problem-solving make this a cozy read-aloud for preschoolers and the grown-ups sharing storytime.
