The Star Beside Lilo
Lilo wants to sit on the garden stone and look up at the stars. But the doorway feels dark, and the way outside seems daunting to a little rabbit who is not sure about taking the first step.
Then comes a soft ting. Stella, a little star, invites Lilo to play a game: dark feet, skyward noses. Lilo makes the rules, and together they hop from shadow to shadow, finding a way around a gap that looks too wide. But beneath the hazel, the separate shadows join together. The game that brought them this far no longer seems to work. Can Lilo find a way to keep going—and reach the garden stone?
The Star Beside Lilo is a gentle picture-book story about a timid rabbit, a bright new friend, and the small change in perspective that can make a difficult path feel possible. With playful details, warm humor, and an unhurried rhythm, it makes a cozy read-aloud for preschoolers and families to share.
