The Last-Drop Duet

by IDN

Beni has a leaf, a shower of rain, and a wish for someone to play beside him. But the apple tree’s drops are running out, and the other leaf is still silent. Then Ada, a brown bunny, hears a voice among the leaves—and discovers a green bunny ready to share his rain drum.

Ada’s curled leaf makes a plonk; Beni’s flat one makes a plip. Their playful rhythms begin to fit together, until a gust flips their drums and the dwindling rain leaves them waiting. With their tune almost gone, can Beni and Ada find one more way to play together?

Made for preschoolers ages 3–5, this gentle picture-book story celebrates friendship, making room for differences, and the delight of creating something together. Its lively rain sounds and bunny banter make it a warm read-aloud for little listeners.

Rain tapped one leaf, but the other stayed silent.
“I'm a bunny!” said Beni.
“I like your ears,” said Ada.
