Roberto’s Window

Roberto has a new room, a view of the park, and a birthday full of presents—but none of it makes his new apartment feel like home. He misses his old place and has no new friends to share his days with. When Roberto discovers a bird feeder among his gifts, he thinks it is boring. He hangs it outside only to get it out of the way.

Then tapping at the window brings an unexpected sight: birds gathering for seeds. Their visits give Roberto something to look forward to, and soon the feeder draws attention from far beyond his room. But when a sudden act of destruction sends the birds flying, Roberto’s new happiness seems to vanish. Can he find a way through the heartbreak and loneliness once more?

Roberto’s Window is a warm picture-book story about homesickness, the surprises that can brighten an ordinary day, and the first steps toward friendship. Young readers will enjoy watching Roberto’s feelings change as birds and neighborhood children enter his world—a gentle read-aloud for families to share.
