It's Raining Octopuses!
by M. P. Oliver
Ollie is a curious little octopus who loves finding shiny, strange things—especially things that do not belong underwater. When a bright red yo-yo drifts down from above, Ollie has to find out what it is. Could it be food? One gulp brings a mighty hiccup, and suddenly Ollie’s belly grows round while his eight arms begin lifting off the sand.
Up he floats, past little fish, a big fish, and a very surprised shark, then out of the sea and high into the sky. Far below, the fishermen spot something wobbling overhead and wonder: Is it a cloud? A bird? With the yo-yo still causing surprises, Ollie’s strange flight is not over—and the fishermen may soon have an even sillier idea about what is falling from the sky.
Full of expressive moments, playful sound effects, and an imaginative underwater adventure, this lively story is a joyful read-aloud for young children who love curious characters and unexpected surprises.
