Garrett and Brooklyn's Boredom Box
by Ashley Agnew
Garrett wants a box game he and his little sister, Brooklyn, can play together. A few taps on the cardboard turn the empty box into a train—but there’s barely room for both of them. When the train stalls, Brooklyn hears something else in Garrett’s tapping: a hungry tummy. Soon the box becomes a soup pot, and Brooklyn has the perfect ingredient: thunder.
But Garrett wants quiet potato soup, and Brooklyn’s big, booming idea doesn’t fit. With their game losing its spark, can Garrett find room for the sounds his sister wants to share? Their cardboard box may be empty, but making a game together takes listening, imagination, and a little space for someone else’s idea.
Garrett and Brooklyn's Boredom Box is a playful read-aloud for preschoolers, full of rhythmic sound effects and make-believe that invite little listeners to join the fun.
