Autumn is changing the neighbourhood, and I don’t want to miss a moment. With leaves scattered across the ground and a fresh breeze outside, I’m ready for a morning walk—but first, hubby has to finish getting ready. Soon we’re out together, passing neighbours who greet one another and children excited by Halloween decorations and candy.

As the walk unfolds, a drifting leaf and a quiet pause by the neighbourhood bench invite us to slow down. But the seasons keep moving. Thanksgiving brings thoughts of family gathering; Christmas and New Year are just ahead. Then snow begins to fall, transforming the familiar ground beneath a white blanket. Can I take in all these passing pleasures and still make room for the everyday comfort I treasure most?
