Footprints in the First Snow

by DucEdouard

Where do the little tracks lead?

When the first snow transforms her garden, Greta spots tiny footprints beside her boots. They belong to Sol, a fox she longs to see. Greta follows his trail past the currants, around a pot, and toward a mysterious snowy hill. But Sol is nearby, watching—and following the deep prints Greta leaves behind.

As the two circle the garden, their trails cross and blur beneath the falling flakes. Greta wants to find Sol, but the more she searches, the harder it is to tell which way he went. Will she keep following every turn, or discover another way to meet the fox who is never quite in view?

Footprints in the First Snow is a gentle picture-book story about curiosity, patience, and noticing what is close by. With soft snowy sounds and a quiet rhythm, Greta and Sol’s near-meeting makes a lovely read-aloud for sharing together.
